No More SCOPE HOLD BREATH REMINDER

$

Sick of being told to hold Alt to hold breathe? Know that by now? I got pissed off that message didn’t disappear the first time I actually held alt, which was about 3 seconds after being presented with it, the first few hours into my game or something. Well be angry for this reason no longer. Download this and throw it in /data/interface and you are laughing.

Minimalist User Interface (in power armor and out)

$

This is a minimalist hud. Nothing but name-tags on doors/units so you know if you’re looking at a bandit, a cait, a codsworth, a commonwealth door or just a door. and those search/looting containers, but gone are the reminder that E grabs and R examines, cos i’ve been playing the game far too long to not know that. no search container brackets either, so if there’s nothing in a container, you don’t get bothered with any hud pop up. you can always hit R on a container to put shit into it. But you will no longer be patronized about how to do such action. Enjoy!

Install? Download zip, go to steam main apps/fallout 4/data/interface and throw it in there.

my other hud mods, compatible, recommended even.
no scope hud messages telling you to hold your breathe:

no power armor hud, cos um how high tech is that shit? it knows how much ammo is in my magazine AND my backpack? amazing and bullshit, here’s a mod to be rid of it:

also i recommend this: no cha-ching noise on XP gain. cos then you’ll never know if your enemy is dead or not, until you’re standing on top of them looting them, lol, or you find them sitting on their arse still alive holding that plasma pistol right at you..

Satellite Color World Map Combo

$
0
0

Description:
This is a replacer for your World Map in your Pip-Boy. It’s a combination of Satellite World Map by FloorBelow and Color Map by VirusZ. It is a texture replacer and of the correct size so no ESP file is required. The map itself gives a satellite view of the Commonwealth made using the game’s LoD meshes and textures. This map has icons for settlements, vaults, power armor, military bases, metros, police stations, discoverable locations (optional), and roads + railroads (optional). You’ll discover many varieties of options in terms of what icons should appear on your map during the installation process, and this particular map features a more accurate boundary line. Oh yes, I painstakingly (with god mode and tons of run speed gear) ran around the edge of the entire wasteland just for you, so I could discover where the boundaries actually are. What was ever the point of a border on the map that didn’t even represent any kind of boundary anyways? Sheesh. Get your stuff together, Bethesda.

Aside from the new boundary lines and the combining of those two maps, the icons being used have also been updated and the grid for the map has been made more like we’re used to. The outer boundaries were manually fixed, because the original large black grid from the Satellite World Map was actually the individual meshes of the LoD and they didn’t quite meet seamlessly. So… clone stamp, bitches!

I was going to remove the large black grid from Satellite World Map from the entire map (which would have been kind of a pain in the ass tbh) but it occurred to me that it would be more useful if there was a grid there. And so, I completely remade the grid – I even pulled out a calculator to figure out the exact size each square needed to be (hey, I was really proud of myself about that… I suck at math. For real.) – and now it’s labeled with coordinates. That way it’s easier to tell your friends where to find something. Like, “I ran into this crazy overpowered deathclaw at 1C-30, so don’t go there! Or, uh… I mean… Forget what I said. There’s tons of loot just laying around at 1C-30, go there immediately… and uh… don’t save for a few hours before that. Yeah. Do that. >:]” Anyways, I’m sure you all will figure out some kind of use for it.

There are two primary editions: Vault Boy bobbleheads, or Vault Girl bobbleheads. We have replacers for the bobbleheads already and we’ll surely have a full interface replacer sometime soon; so, we may as well have a matching map. Each of these types includes several variations: all features, no location markers, no location markers and no roads, and just no roads. You can choose which you prefer during the FOMOD installation.

“But Xun, I don’t use NMM.” Well, then you can manually install! The folders are named pretty intuitively, and here’s how you do it…

Manual Installation:
Extract archive.
Choose your desired flavor, and open that folder (e.g. VG-All).
Copy “worldmap_d.dds” to “textures\interface\pip-boy” in your Data folder.
Done!

All of this shit’s in color. That means it’s not going to be just pure pink or green or whatever the heck you have your Pip-Boy color set as. It’s not going to look like that though unless you do some wizardry in your ini files first. Now look, before I continue… I’m just going to be up front with you: The entire interface for you Pip-Boy will be white after this, but the rest of your UI will be unaffected. So, weigh whether you want a color map & white pip-boy UI or if you’ll just settle for a monotone map. Your choice.

Installation:
To get it in color you’re going to need to navigate to Documents\My Games\Fallout4 and either edit your existing file or create a new file called Fallout4Custom.ini and it needs to have this:

[Pipboy] bPipboyDisableFX=1

Now, if your map doesn’t work at all – dude, have you done any texture or mesh replacer mods yet? – then you’ll need to edit your Fallout4.ini and under [Archive] you’ll want to add this line:

bInvalidateOlderFiles=1

And if you have anything after sResourceDataDirsFinal= then delete all that shit after it because it makes your game load like a sloth stoned out of its mind. Seriously. This will be your game’s load speeds:

You don’t want that. Or maybe you do. I don’t know. I’m not the boss of you. Do what you want.

Moving on!

So, my map is the same resolution as the 8K Satellite Map. I know what you’re thinking…

“mmm… 8K… high res… want…”

But, my map is only 4K.

I have a good reason though. The 8k Satellite Map had a ton of extra map area that quite frankly isn’t really necessary. Once you crop the map to just the actual map area (which is why this map doesn’t require an ESP), then it’s the same resolution as it was with the 8K even though it’s 4K.

Aaand, uh… that’s pretty much it.

…EXCEPT FOR THE CREDITS!

Credits:
Satellite World Map by FloorBelow, for the satellite map. Used with permission.
Color Map by VirusZ, for icon placement, some icons, and inspiration. Used with permission.
JAMA / Armor Location Map by Nixsy, for the roads & railroads. Used with permission.
Shadman for vault girl’s icon. Shadman is awesome. Check out Shadman’s art. Uhh… if you’re over 18. Definitely… only… if you’re over 18…

Oh!!! I almost forgot!!!

That little fucking red thing. What the fuck was that?:

Well, I’ll tell you what the fuck that was…

It was THIS. Open that in a new tab and look at it. Things will make sense.

It still looked kind of ghetto though, but it got better:

You’re welcome.

Changelog:
1.1 – Feb 3, 2016 New!
-Adds the bridge outside sanctuary which was previously missing.
-Removes the vault icon from Vault 101. Why, you might ask? Well, it’s impossible not to discover so it’s pointless.
-Adds two new versions: Clean with only roads and clean with only faint roads.
-Adds two new variations: Vault Girl bobbleheads + no locations + faint roads, and Vault Boy bobbleheads + no locations + faint roads. This was previously the XunCustom.
1.0 – Feb 2, 2016
-Initial release.

Clean HUD – Immersive Presets for DEF_HUD

$

Big time kudos to Neanka, author of the amazing DEF_HUD.
Endorse it and shit. No, really. It deserves it.

Choose between 4 different presets

Main Features (Default Preset): super small text, super small HP and AP bars placed at the bottom corners of the screen, no compass (only NESW indicators at the top of the screen), CLEAN, everything moved away from the center of the screen.

Default Preset for an immersive, but not clueless experience (see screenshots).
Full Compass Preset for those who want to know where the fuck they’re going.
With the Cleaner Preset you’d better count your ammo and AP, because your HUD certainly won’t.
For the Professional Immersionists, pick the Immersive preset to get rid of pretty much everything except your HP bar and pop-up menus. Rated “I” for Immersive.

Installation:

You’ll of course need Neanka’s mod for these presets to work: DEF_HUD – Fully tunable HUD by Neanka

Download and install his mod, then mine. Version 1.1 is live and NMM compatible! Simply download with Manager and activate, otherwise download manually, extract, and drop the “interface” folder in your Fallout 4 Data folder; merge (and possibly override) when prompted.

Uninstall:

Deactivate in your Mod Manager; if manually uninstalling, go to your Fallout 4 Data folder, then Interface, then DEF_CONF, then delete DEF_HUD.xml

NOTE: the crosshair’s a small dot in all presets, but I’d suggest removing it altogether from the in-game settings for the best experience.
Any and all feedback is appreciated.

Tweaked hud

One thing I hated about this game is all the information I wanted such as health was in the corner of the screen and I had to take my eyes off the fight to check my health.

As you can see in the screenshot I moved most of the hud to surround the cross hair so I can see them without moving my eyes so far from the cross hair.

About the screen shot. I made the hud items that i didn’t change invisible, so you can see the new layout. they are still visible in the game and in the same place like normal.

Installation

Mod manager
Download DEF_HUD – Fully tunable HUD by Neanka
Activate DEF_HUD
Activate tweaked hud and overwrite when asked to.

Manual
Download DEF_HUD – Fully tunable HUD by Neanka
Put interface folder in Data folder.
Download and open tweaked hud.
Put data folder in fallout 4 folder or interface folder in data folder.
Overwrite when asked to.

Nathan’s menu

A replacer for the Main menu background video and music with a video my friend Nathan made.

Is your main menu lacking in personality and charisma. Then let me add the most charismatic person I know to your world.
Every time you start your game you get to see a menu that will make you wonder, Who is this kid? Why is he so great? what does he
do in his free time? Who is responsible for this being in my game? Why do I love him? Why am I now questioning my sexuality? Why did
he make this video? Why did this mod author put it in fallout? Is this immersive? Where can I locate the nearest Immersion Scientist
to explain how this can be immersive? What is love?

Have some fun making your main menu much better. Don’t waste your time watching the empty shell of a man(thats all power armor is)
Watch Nathan and he will make your day much better.

Commonwealth Commonsense – DEF_HUD Preset

Thanks to the awesome DEF_HUD mod by Neanka, those of us who don’t have the patience to fiddle around with XML files can fine tune the hud to our heart’s desire quickly and easily. This mod is simply a tweaked hud that I created using the previously mentioned mod.

Again, all credit goes to Neanka who created this mod.
I’m also using these interface mods:
DEF_INV – Improved Interface
Valdacil’s Item Sorting

Their powers combined cut out inventory, hud, and interface pollution!

I think this is pretty true to the vanilla hud, just resized, moved out of the way a bit more, and hopefully less cluttered. The changes that are more noticeably different from the vanilla layout are below:

– Removed the low battery warning message completely. Beeping and the flashing red light on the power armor hud wasn’t enough? It seemed excessive and unnecessary in my opinion.

– Removed the flashlight icon. Again, I felt it was fairly obvious when the flashlight was active without there being an icon for it.

– The compass is at the top of the screen. I have always preferred it this way myself. There aren’t any other compass alterations. Enemy indicators, quest markers, ect will all still show up.

All other changes are fairly minor and include resizing and moving items toward the edges of the screen. Hopefully the screenshots give a fairly good representation of everything.

Version 2.0 is updated for DEF_HUD version 2.0. It was created using an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Installation:
1. DEF_HUD is required. Install it first using NMM.
2. Install this preset after using NMM.

Organized simple HUD- DEF_HUD preset

A different preset I made for my self with DEF_HUD and thought maybe I´d share it.

You do need DEF_HUD and you need to get that before you download my preset.
Nothing else really just look at the screenshots to get an idea. (New update does not have ingame screeshots, because setup is mostly same)

There is a no crosshair version as well. You can get those at the optional section, but download just one.

UPDATE 2.0
Few things were changes, bars were removed for things that allowed it.
As there are different resolution presets, some have a little changed styles (If you have something else than 16:9 resolution, let me know how they look)
Few things were resized, made a little smaller… I may have made them too small, like the Subs and Enemy bar. If you think my preset is too small let me know what element of the UI and on what resolution.

Synth HUD added
I did not see the point of having this as a different mod.
To get some idea just scroll to the picture called Synth or the picture where the HUD is completely different.
Why did I do this? For RP, if you RP as a synth this is the HUD for you, most of the things are more in the middle, because robots/synths and I kinda looks cool. Few things are totally removed… Just look at the pic, its just a random RP version, that I did not see the point of having as a separate mod.

Big thanks for Neanka for the DEF_HUD mod.
You can edit my preset, but don´t upload it when only one thing is different from me. If you change at least three things then be sure to credit Neanka for DEF_HUD and me for the preset template.

Also if you want something more Immersive get this mod Clean HUD – Immersive Presets for DEF_HUD by TheDrunkKnight
Also update to 2.0
Some other HUD mods:
Unobtrusive Interface Preset for DEF_HUD by OOM
ergonomic HUD – Preset for DEF_HUD by aselnor
Simple Immersive HUD for DEF_HUD – Fully tunable HUD by Canilobo
Tweaked hud by Bwins95
Commonwealth Commonsense – DEF_HUD Preset by kirkonacid

Why I´m sharing others mods? Because HUD is something that makes the game, you need the HUD feel perfect or good for you and there are many presets so you don´t have to mess around youself, maybe one of these presets will do.
Cheers.

Scavver’s HUD – DEF_HUD Preset

Overview:
This here is my personal HUD in the 16:9 Ratio set up that is all thanks to Neanka’s DEF_HUD that removes a many things from the HUD that killed immersion for me as well as moving things to a much better and visible (atleast for me) position.

Features of this HUD:
The Reticule is now non-existant making iron sights and the good ‘ol “spray and pray” a whole lot more useful. Hit markers still sadly show for the moment though.
Hit/mine direction marker has also been removed so watch your footing!
Stealth Meter/Enemy Blips removed to further make you a little more cautious when exploring
Button prompts removed making you unable to tell whats objects are locked
Enemy Name/Skull/Star/Health removed. Be careful who you target in VATS since its now impossible to tell friend from foe
Ammo Counter now only shows the MAX amount of ammo you have for said weapon. May remove all together
Condition and Perk popups moved to lower left corner near the HP/AP/Crit bar

For the other minor changes it’d be best to look at the screens.

Installation & Uninstallation:

Install with either MO2 or NMM for Manual installs just drop the Interface folder into your FO4 data folder

To uninstall just removed said files

Pretentious Menus

$
0
0

This mod replaces the default main menu of Fallout4 with something which attempts to be a bit more atmospheric.

Taking a cue from Immersive Main Menu by Dicsaw, but trying to add a more ‘film-like’ quality there are several
different scenes here to choose from that depict different areas of the game, mainly outdoors. Some of these scenes are
from a fixed camera position, while others are not. Each scene is fully animated complete with sfx.

BADTFL Regional Office: two different scenes to choose. The first pans down from the ceiling and past a terminal located
in one of the decrepid offices. The second is a fixed cam of a terminal in a dusty side office.

Dawn nr Murkwater: This scene set west of Murkwater pans slowly from left to
right, the moon is about to set and the transition from night to day begins.

Nr Natick Banks: Camera slowly pans up from shattered concrete to show the area near to Lake Cochituate.

Shiny Dupa: Fixed slo-mo cam set inside the lower floor of the Supa Dupa Mart in the glowing sea.

Crater of Atom: Another fixed cam, set in the dead of night just outside of the Crater of Atom.

Rain nr Somerville Place: Static slo-mo cam of an unsightly settlement building at Somerville Place.

Shores of the Glowing Sea: two different scenes to choose, one fixed-cam, one pans slowly from right to left, both in slo-mo.
On the edges of the glowing sea, during a raging thunderstorm showing the utter devastation caused by the bombs.

Atlantic Mist: Fixed cam, fog rolls over Boston Harbor, with Boston City slowly revealing itself as the sun sets.

N.B. Each scene has a slight vignette, as well as a film-grain effect thanks to the fantastic Kodachrome 828 shader I use
(Vintage Film Looks by Cryosleep & TreyM)
If your not a fan of film-grain you might not like these menu replacers.
Unfortunately, I lost most of the original .mp4 video files I made, so the quality is not perfect by any means; I might at a later date re-record
these scenes again at higher quality, but right now I don’t have the time.I’ve more scenes waiting in the pipeline that need editing & re-encoding
at a later date if there is a demand.

Installation instructions:

IMPORTANT: Back up mus_maintheme.xwm file from Fallout4/data/music/special as well as
